A Framing Site Supervisor is an on-site construction professional who's job is to oversee the framing phase of a building project. Framing is the most crucial stage of the construction process. They ensure that the project starts off correctly, right form the beginning.

Responsibilities of a Framing Site Supervisor

Project Oversight

  • Supervise and manage all framing work on the construction site.

  • Ensure all framing is done according to blueprints, structural plans, and building code.


Crew Management

  • Coordinate and direct the framing crew (carpenters, laborers, etc.).

  • Make sure workers are following safety procedures and working efficiently.


Quality Control

  • Consistently inspect framing work for accuracy, quality and code regulations.

  • Spot and correct issues early on to avoid structural issues later.

Scheduling and Coordination:

  • Coordination between general contractors, engineers, and other trades to avoid conflict or project delays.

  • Keep project on schedule.


Materials & Tools

  • Procure, order and manage building materials needed for framing.

  • Make sure tools and equipment are in good working condition.


Safety Compliance

Enforce site safety regulations at all times.

Conduct safety meetings and monitor workers to make sure all standards are met.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of framing techniques, building history, building codes, and construction safety.

  • Ability to read blueprints and construction documents.

  • Stronge leadership and communication skills.

  • Experience in carpentry or framing (several years in the trade before moving into supervision is paramount).
